Before you start

Your Tenantify account controls your rent collection, tenant management, and financial records. Securing it with two-factor authentication and a strong password is essential, especially since your Paystack subaccount is linked to it.

Who this is for

Every landlord. Do this on the same day you set up your Paystack bank account.

What you’ll get done

Two-factor authentication enabled, your password confirmed or updated, and your profile details verified.

Steps

1. Open Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar.

2. Verify your profile (Profile tab)

Confirm your name, email, and phone number are correct. Your name appears on lease documents and payment records. Your phone number should be in +234 format.

Click Save Changes if you make any updates.

3. Change your password (Security tab)

Click the Security tab. Under Change Password:

  • Enter your Current Password.
  • Enter a New Password (minimum 8 characters).
  • Confirm the new password.

Click Change Password.

4. Enable two-factor authentication

On the same Security tab, click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.

  1. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or any TOTP app.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify & Enable.
  3. Save your backup codes. These one-time codes let you log in if you lose your phone. Store them in a password manager or a secure location. Click I have saved these codes.

The Security tab now shows a green Enabled badge with your remaining backup code count.

Disabling MFA

Return to Settings > Security and click Disable MFA if needed. You can re-enable it at any time.

If something goes wrong

QR code does not scan. Copy the secret key shown below the QR code and enter it manually.

Code rejected. Wait for a fresh 6-digit code (they refresh every 30 seconds). Ensure your phone’s clock is set to automatic.

Locked out. Use a backup code. If none remain, contact [email protected].
